Chamber Corner

121 days ago204 views
The chamber had a wonderful 2011 with a record number of businesses joining the chamber, a record number of businesses renewing their membership and a record number of ribbon cuttings. Business owners seem to be generally optimistic about where the economy is heading.

As I visit businesses around West Valley City, I find that they are seeing some growth. Some places such as the mall and businesses around the mall and around the TRAX line are seeing improvements. The construction in the city with the new road on the east side of the mall, Granger High School and the Larry H. Miller Megaplex at Valley Fair are great investments in the city. There are other construction sites around town such as the Embassy Suites on the corner of Market Street and 3500 South.

All of these projects create jobs and construction related purchases. These in turn help keep the money flowing into the economy. These are all good things.

ChamberWest and our new sister chamber, the East Valley Chamber of Commerce representing Millcreek Township continue to provide exceptional opportunities for businesses to network where their business takes them throughout West Valley City, Taylorsville, Kearns and Millcreek.

Ribbon cutting pictures and videos as well as event pictures are posted on Facebook, Twitter and the East Valley Chamber YouTube channel.
