The Days of ‘47 Rodeo will return to the Maverik Center in West Valley City for the third year in a row. This long-standing summer tradition hits the dirt from July 18-25.

The Bar T’s award-winning rodeo stock will be sure to entertain, as these world-class athletes compete for more than $200,000 in prize money in one of the country’s top ranked PRCA rodeos. All of the classic rodeo events are back, including bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling and tie-down roping.

“This rodeo is rich in tradition and heritage. It is a privilege for me to be involved in bringing this type of world-class entertainment to the citizens of Utah,” said Brad Harmon, president of the Days of ‘47 Rodeo Committee. “We are so excited to be able to offer such quality entertainment at affordable, family-friendly prices. With every purchase people make these days needing to be justified, we feel that the rodeo provides an exceptional experience and value for families of any size.”

Back by popular demand this year are three huge pieces of exceptional entertainment. First, the Pro Tour FMX (free style MotoCross) will be making a return appearance to dazzle and entertain fans with some breathtaking, high-flying motocross action. Second, the always popular Wild Cow Milking will be back and sure to hold a few surprises each and every night of the rodeo.

Last but certainly not least, the rodeo is pleased to have the return of pro barrel man and rodeo clown Mr. Mark Swingler. Audiences can rest assured that they will be thoroughly entertained by Mark’s world-famous comedy and clown acts.

The Days of ’47 Rodeo has celebrated Utah’s heritage and pioneer legacy for more than 150 years. Rodeo is one of the oldest forms of recreation in Utah and has been a part of the culture for many, many years. The rodeo is the cornerstone of the weeklong celebration centered around the Utah holiday of Pioneer Day, July 24 (this year the holiday will be observed on Monday, July 25).
