Marvelous Monday Storytime. Join Miss Susan for music, stories, rhymes and fun.

 

Mondays, 2 p.m.

Marvelous Monday Afternoon Storytime. Join Miss Susan for songs and stories, activities, a craft and fun as we add a second storytime on Monday. If you missed the morning storytime, now you can catch the fun in the afternoon.

 

Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. Ages 24 months and under

Baby Bookworm. Join us for nursery rhymes, finger plays and fun with books! These storytimes are created especially for babies up to 24 months.

 

Thursdays, 11:15 a.m. Ages 18 months to 4 years

Toddler Time. Join Miss Melinda for her favorite picture books, songs, fingerplays and more! No registration necessary.

Wintergreen Guessing Jar. Guess how many Lifesavers you think are in our Wintery Guessing Jar. If you come closest, you get to keep the jar. Winner will be announced Feb. 4.

Loop Snowman Take-Home Craft. Stop by the Information Desk and pick up materials to make a fun Loop Snowman craft at home.

Get Organized NOW. January is National Get Organized Month. Get empowered and inspired to get organized, stay organized, and have fun doing it by using the Clear & SIMPLE systems.

 

Jan. 17, 7 p.m.  Girls ages 8 to 12 with an adult

Great Reads for Girls: A Mother/Daughter Book Club. Join us for lively discussion, games, crafts and treats. No registration required. Pick up your “Great Reads” booklist at the reference desk for the complete reading schedule.

Yu-gi-oh Tournament. Come and play, or learn to play. Trade cards from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

The Princess and the Frog Puppet Show. In this charming Brothers Grimm tale, the spoiled princess drops her golden ball into the well, then makes certain promises to the frog who retrieves it for her. Will she keep her promises? Will she kiss the frog?

Valentine Take-Home Craft. Valentine's Day is fast approaching. Stop by the Information Desk and pick up the materials to make a fun Valentine's Day craft at home.

Family Yoga Fun. Looking for a fun family activity that everyone can enjoy? Come stretch and laugh with your kids! Yoga is a fun way to spend time with your kids doing something you both will enjoy. All shapes, sizes and abilities are welcome.

 

Feb. 8, 3:30 p.m. Ages 6 to 11

Elephant and Piggie Friday Fun. Celebrate Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems with us! Come for a fun-filled hour of stories, games and fun all inspired by our favorite characters.

 

Feb. 13, 4 p.m.  Boys ages 7 to 11

No Girls Allowed. Enjoy a fun hour of games, crafts and information designed just for guys. This week’s theme: “Surf’s Up!”

 

Feb. 15, 4 p.m.  Families

The Science of Seuss. Join us for some Seuss-ical science adventures. What is oobleck from “Bartholomew and the Oobleck”? Like “Horton Hears a Who,” watch and listen to how sound effects are made. See things change colors right before your eyes like in “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.” And finish up with cool science from “Oh! The Places You'll Go!”

Great Reads for Girls. A book club for girls ages 8 to 12 with a caring adult. Registration required.

 

Jan. 18, 3 p.m.  Teens

Teen Bookmarks. Let's start the year off right... and get ready to read! Join us this afternoon to make bookmarks. We'll be making these bookmarks out of lots of fun materials. And when we're done, feel free to work on your art project  that's due at the end of the month. Hope to see you there!

Books Into Movies Book Club. Join us for our first ever Books Into Movies Book Club! We will have a quick discussion of "I Am Number 4," both before and after watching the movie. Don't have time to read the book? Feel free to join us anyway. Many copies will be available for check out the day of the movie just in case you change your mind and want to read it on your own.

Boss the Reading Dog. Come read to Boss! He loves to hear your favorite stories. Boss is a Certified Reading dog and he visits West Valley Library the second Monday of every month. He looks forward to hearing from you.
